About Historic Farmland USA (HFUSA) and the Farmland Community Center

Located at 100 N. Main Street right here in beautiful Farmland, Historic Farmland USA (HFUSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group organized through both Indiana and National Main Street programs.  Originally founded in 1992, our mission is to “improve the quality of life for citizens of Farmland and the surrounding East Central Indiana Region.”  To further this mission HFUSA owns and operates the Farmland Community Center to provide a space to promote community enrichment, cultural advancement, and to feature local artists from the area.

In conjunction with multiple area community groups HFUSA is able to offer numerous activities including wellness and arts classes, dinner theatres, concerts, art galleries, open mic nights, public meeting spaces, facility rentals, and much more!

In over two decades of existence HFUSA has invested in our facilities, programs, and people and would like to invite our community to be a part of this special place.  Though Farmland is the quintessential “small town America” Historic Farmland USA with the Farmland Community Center are honored to offer programs, activities, and amenities typically found in much larger communities and organizations.

Curtis Cunningham, Redkey, has served on the HFUSA Board since 2018.  Having graduated from Monroe Central, Curtis moved back to the area in 2013 and is a local realtor.  He is especially concerned with community events, and has added his cooking prowess to the annual Chili Cook-off, which he now chairs.

Chris Bunner, Farmland, has served on the HFUSA Board since 2020.  Chris is a retired social worker and instructional designer, and has lived in the area since 1972.  She is very involved in all activities at the center, especially the Main Street Senior Center where she serves as treasurer.

Jordan Hammers, Farmland, recently purchased and moved into the former stained glass window building downtown and became an HFUSA Board member in 2021.  In addition to starting a BBQ food truck, Jordan is a territory sales manager.  His family has long ties to Farmland, and hopes to bring the Farmland community together and help it grow.

Kris Matlock, Farmland, grew up in Farmland and returned to the community twenty years ago.  Kris is a community volunteer and has served on the HFUSA Board since 2016.  She hopes to help create a more caring and sharing community, while loving to talk and trade ideas, share stories, and enjoy anyone who has a good sense of humor.

Amy Weimer,

Marcy Yuknavage, Farmland, is the Farmland clerk-treasurer and joined the HFUSA Board in 2021.  Marcy lived here as a child, moved to Orlando in the 70s, and moved back to Farmland in 2011 to be close to family.  She wants to tie the city building with the community and work on getting more community involvement.  She hopes that Farmland can be one of those little towns that is a place everyone wants to visit and talk about.
